Free YellowPages Scraper – Yellow Pages

by Aaron

This bot that I made was originally going to be sold, but I decided to give it away. Not exactly sure why I did this because I know I could make some decent money off of it.

What it does is scrapes the listings off Yellow Pages (yellowpages.com) and puts them in a CSV file. When you open the program you need to browse to where ever you would like to start scraping. The script needs to be on the results page when you hit start.

Here’s the source code for you UBot developers. (Right Click -> Save As)

The program is for people only with the UBot Software. In order to get this program and use  it you need to purchase UBot Studio.

Requirements:
IE8 Installed
Microsoft .NET 3.5 Framework Installed

This is for educational purposes only. I do not recommend or condone coping and using other sites content for your personal benefit.

  6. Hi I downloaded your yellow page scraper. I ran the program but I can’t seen to figure out where the output .csv file is or how to link it or how to save it through the program? Please give me some detailed instructions on how to do this.

    Thank you very much.

downloaded it agian and it worked, thanks very much. Along with the phone number it also picked up the words CALL and E-mail. Is there any way to delete these from the phone number column easily? Will this ever be able to get the email addresses?

    Thanks again, great job!

    Aaron Reply:

I could add E-Mail but only like 4% of the listings even use it so it is actually worthless.

You can do a search and replace and just remove CALL from it.

    Check you C:\

That is where the .CSV gets saved

  10. Does this check for duplicates? And is there any way to get all the categories, basically every business in a particular town or zip code?

    [Reply]

    Aaron Reply:

If you run it more than 1 time it will save in a different file. So there could be duplicates between the files.

Whatever you find on the search results is what it will scrape. If you can get it to every business in a particular zip code then it will. Not sure if you can do that though.

  14. yes downloaded it 3 times the only thing i got is u-bot folder and 3 text files in it Friendpos,Mailpos,Urls… sorry to bother!

    [Reply]

    Aaron Reply:

That folder and files have nothing to do with anything with this bot.

All you need to do is download the .exe to anywhere on your computer. Run the .exe and when it is finished it will save the .CSV on your C:\

If you cant find it when it’s done then try a search for “result” and you should be able to locate it.

  28. First thanks for the update. The update that I downloaded did not work at all. In the total in the top left corner of the program it stayed at “0″ and the completed stayed at “0″ I did a test of around 600 and it tried to scan 3 or4 pages and then went to your http://www.ubottutorials.com/ypdone.php page.

    I am using win XP

  36. I tried your yellow pages scraper today.
Every page it attempted to scrape generated a
this page has moved, or the page your are attempting to access is not available.

I ran it a few times for my locale on business I know are available.

I tried it with foxfire and IE browsers active.

I am logged into yellow pages web site on the browser and the browser portion of the scraper but still error, page not available.

Is this my side or a software error?

    Thanks…great bots

I just tested it and it worked. Just make sure you have IE8 installed and I wouldn’t login YP. You dont need to open FF or IE to get this to work. Just need IE8 installed on your computer.

  38. This bot looks perfect! I downloaded it and tried running it on the Canadian yellowpages.ca site, and though it did scroll through the pages, it didn’t recognize any of the listings. I realize this is free and don’t expect any assistance, just wondering if it would be a quick update to make it work on the Canadian site as well? Here’s a sample of the page I’m trying to scrape:

    http://canada411.yellowpages.ca/search/pv-alph/1/restaurant/SK/rca-01125710-Restaurants

Thanks for your time! I’ve been searching for a working scraper for some time now and would be grateful if you have a chance to look at this.

    Take care!

    [Reply]

    Aaron Reply:

Suprised it even browsed the pages. :)

If I ever get some free time maybe I can add Canada on there. Shouldn’t be too difficult to do.

  46. Hello,

Thank you so much for the great bot. However, I’m having trouble getting it to work. I’ve downloaded the latest version above and have downloaded and installed IE 8 has my browser. I can open up the file and search on the site and get the results to show up on yellowpages.com.

I then hit the play button and it goes through all of the pages for the results. However I never see the “Total” and “Completed” feilds change, they always remain at zero.

I can find the cvs file however there’s nothing in it.

I would love to get this to work and if you could help me I would be more then happy to give you a donation for your time and energy.

BTW are you in Hati? I’m curious what it’s like down there. Have you seen Anderson Cooper or Sean Penn running around down there?

    Thank you

    Dustin

  56. I just wanted to tell ya that I love watching your tutorials. It is helping me a lot on learning how to use it. As soon as I can save up enough money for it, I am ordering the ubot for sure. Of course I will make sure to order from your coupon so you get commission for sure on it. Then after I make some bots and sell them I will also make sure to donate some good money to ya too. I hope to someday be as good as you are on making bots, because being a marketer I can see making massive money from being able to make my own bots, both from selling them and from using them as well for advertising! So pretty soon it’s about to be on like Donkey Kong!!!

  58. Ok, how much will it cost me for you to fix this! You said you’d look at it in a week, that was over a month in a half ago. I bought Ubot through your affiliate link so I could get this and have it work. So you got an affiliate commission and I have nothing. So, How much for you to patch this up. I don’t know if I can afford it or not, but I thought I’d ask. Please let me know. I really do need this now. I don’t mean to be a pain but I hope you could understand my position of buying something and thinking I was going to get a result, then spend a few hundred bucks and not getting what I thought I was going to get. I hope you can see my side and I’d just really appreciate it if you could get back to me with a yes or no and if need be a price.

But there is another problem. Once the file does get saved, it is completely empty…

If anyone can get this to work, I would really appreciate some help with it.

    Thanks,
    Michael
